A program for kids who love to read! Participants read books and complete projects based on the book they read. Students read the Wright Brothers book and created a scale model replica of the airplane described in the book. A fun, interactive strategy to encourage reading while gaining team-building skills.
An interactive, cool way for students to enjoy books. Come aboard and select a book to take home. Adults can also get books to go; an area for kids to sit and read is provided.
Learn methods to add water to semi-arid or an arid region’s water supply while understanding delivery and cost rates of irrigation districts. Participating families increase their income and vegetable consumption by growing produce and opening a farmers’ market. Business and horticultural skill development, health and food safety, marketing, and leadership development is acquired.
The media and design program helps advance students' coursework in art, computer science, and communication. Create visuals, build a website, use drones, write targeted messages, and enhance media and web skills through graphic design and photography. Showcase the work through portfolio-building and hands-on learning opportunities.
The official back to school drive in its 8th year! Kids ages 5+ are given backpacks full of school supplies and a voucher to metro area barbershops and hair salons for a free cut or style!
McBride Impact tutors, mentors, and provides a safe place for kids Monday- Thursday during after school hours. A Toy Drive is connected to the program that provided over 1K kids and 500 families with gifts last holiday season.
Kids facilitate a dessert company that makes Mason Jar Ice Cream. Costs, product development, marketing, and graphic design are covered in this curriculum.
McBride Impact's gang prevention/ intervention, and suppression initiative. Participating youth learn cultural identity, relationship building, and anger management.
Run Café Impact, a restaurant located inside the culinary arts school. Learn about nutrition, cooking techniques, seasonings, flavorings, and culinary laws. Safety and sanitation principles prepare students for food-service career opportunities.
IMPACT your student with the gift of cross-cultural experiences, global awareness, and technological collaboration skills. Students chat, build friendships and collaborate through online lessons.
