Jason McBride’s establishment of The John McBride Memorial Scholarship reflects a deep commitment to preserving his father's legacy while extending opportunities to the next generation.

John McBride was a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, spending much of his life working toward the betterment of his community. His dedication to fostering a brighter future for Denver’s youth made him a beloved figure in the city, and his impact was felt across numerous programs aimed at uplifting young people, particularly those facing challenges due to systemic inequities. John McBride was honored for his work with Governor Roy Romer’s Communities for a Drug-Free Colorado, while his role as Director of Mayor Wellington Webb’s Commission on Youth allowed him to engage directly with initiatives that supported Denver’s youth.

The John McBride Memorial Scholarship aims to carry forward his vision by supporting students who exhibit not only academic achievement but also a passion for leadership and giving back to their communities. It seeks to empower students of color, helping them overcome barriers and create a path toward higher education and success. This scholarship stands as a testament to John McBride’s belief that education, advocacy, and support are the cornerstones of a better future for all youth, especially those from marginalized backgrounds. By supporting these outstanding students, Jason McBride and McBride Impact are ensuring that his father’s legacy of mentorship, empowerment, and service to others will live on for years to come.
